How to reach us
Car
Kandersteg is easily and comfortably accessible by car from all directions. The village is located in the Bernese Oberland. Once you arrive in the area, simply follow the signs toward Kandersteg village and continue along Innere Dorfstrasse.
For visitors traveling from Valais or southern Switzerland, the Lötschberg car transport between Kandersteg and Goppenstein offers a fast and convenient alternative to driving over mountain passes.
Shuttle
Shuttle services are available free of charge for all hotel guests, providing convenient transportation to and from Kandersteg Train Station, as well as to local attractions and nearby gondolas. Advance booking is required to ensure availability.
For guests traveling to or from the airport, private airport transfers can be arranged for an additional fee from Zurich International Airport, Geneva Airport, EuroAirport Basel, or Bern Airport (Bern Belp). These services must also be booked in advance and are subject to availability, allowing us to provide a reliable and comfortable journey tailored to your schedule.
Train
Kandersteg is easily accessible by train and offers a particularly scenic journey through the Swiss Alps. The Kandersteg railway station is well connected via regular services from major Swiss cities, making travel comfortable and straightforward.
From the station, Hotel Gemmi & Spa can be reached within a few minutes by local public transport (Bus 241 to the “Gemmi” stop), on foot, or via our complimentary shuttle service. Shuttle services are available free of charge for all hotel guests, providing convenient transportation to and from Kandersteg Train Station. Thanks to its quiet location just outside the village center, the hotel combines convenient accessibility with a peaceful alpine setting.
Traveling by train is an ideal option for guests who value sustainability, comfort, and the unique experience of arriving in the mountains by rail.

Our self check-in system has been designed to ensure a smooth and flexible arrival for our guests. After completing your booking, you will receive a personalized access code directly via email or SMS, allowing you to check in at your own pace, whenever it suits you best. The intuitive process takes just a few minutes and provides 24-hour check-in availability, offering complete independence and convenience. Between 7AM and 5PM, our reception is available if you prefer to check in or check out in person.
